Funerals
When a loved one dies the Church is there to help you, to support you in your loss and to offer its services as you plan the funeral. If you desire a funeral service in church, this is planned with the undertaker and the city bereavement services in terms of the crematorium or a burial in a graveyard.
St Marks has a Garden of Remembrance where the ashes of loved ones may be interred. A Book of Remembrance is kept open in the chapel.
A funeral service in church speaks of the Christian hope through Christ of the new life of eternity with God. In the choosing of music, readings and hymns the clergy and others will help you as you prepare for this day.
After the funeral you may like a visit from church and particular help in time of loss.
