St Mark’s works in partnership with St Andrew’s United Reform Church in Broomhall and the Beacon Methodist Church in Broomhill to share the Christian faith in our part of Sheffield. All three member Churches regard this as a vital part of their mission and witness. The partnership is called Churches Together in Broomhill and Broomhall (CTBB).
Our current undertakings are:
- The employment of a paid full time professional worker with older people.
- A weekly lunch club on Wednesdays at St Mark’s for older and housebound people.
- A weekly coffee morning on Thursdays at the Beacon Methodist Church for older people. Once a month we arrange for an entertainer.
- A fortnightly social club on Tuesdays at St. Andrew’s for older people.
- A weekly Friday morning breakfast at St Andrew’s for the local community including the most vulnerable people in the area.
- A term time youth club in Broomhall.
We are constituted as a charity and are a company limited by guarantee. The CTBB trustees are nominated by the three member churches and form an executive committee who determine strategy and direction. The executive is supported by a number of subcommittees who each advise on a different strand of our work.
