Broomhall Forum

Broomhall Forum is now an independent company. Its role is to drive forward the social and economic regeneration of this ethnically diverse inner city area so that the quality of life of all the Broomhall communities is improved. It now employs a full time manager and a part time community development worker with two part time environmental workers and a youth worker. The Forum's decision making and management processes are overseen by a Management Committee which meets monthly. It is made up of a range of elected Broomhall community stakeholders, either residents or those who work or deliver services in the area. The Churches are represented at present by Revd Sue Hobley. The community has benefitted greatly from the work going on in the area. The green spaces and play areas have been cared for and replanted, and there is on going youth work which offers a homework club, the chance to join a youth club and opportunities for the voices and opinions of young people to contribute to the life of their community. There's still a way to go, but we look forward to new and exciting opportunities in the coming year.
