Profile: Jenny Morgans

Jenny, known to all as Jelly, is our Worker with Students and Young Adults (basically anyone aged 18-30!). Aged twenty-seven, Jelly is now entering her third year in Sheffield.

Jelly welcomes new people to St Mark’s and helps them to feel at home and part of the Church community. Her busiest time of year is during Intro Week; raising awareness of St Mark’s amongst students and co-ordinating events. But throughout the year she is always ‘on hand’ for undergrads as well as graduates, international students, and all Jellyyoung adults.

Students and young adults at St Mark’s are involved in activities such as the Student Christian Movement (SCM), the Taizé community, the St Mark’s InSpire group for students and young adults, as well services and events with the wider congregation.

For students and others staying in Sheffield over the Christmas holidays, Jelly helps with one of St Mark’s favourite events of the year, Christmas Day lunch at church, which attracts around seventy hungry participants!

Jelly sees her role at St Mark’s as one which gives young adults a sense of belonging, community and friendship, as well as a place to explore and deepen faith. We very much value her contribution to this work at St Mark’s and believe that students and young people have found her friendship and guidance to be very important to them.
