Home Donations Committee
The Home Donations Committee meets twice in the year to discuss and to recommend to the PCC the various donations which St Marks will make to (mostly) local charities in the course of the year. Ten percent of the given income of the church is given away to home and international causes.
2009 Home Donations
In 2009 St Marks gave £6389 to different organisations in Sheffield and beyond. The principal beneficiaries were : the Childrens Society, ASSIST helping Asylum seekers in Sheffield and South Yorkshire Workplace Chaplaincy. Other beneficiaries included St. Mark's Soup Run Project, Church Action on Poverty, Norman House caring for ex prisoners, the Church Urban Fund, City of Sanctuary, Ben's Centre, Scoop Aid, Sheffield Churches Council for Community Care, Fare Share, Broken Rites and RODA (Relatives of Drug Users).
